Confidence, How to do I get confidence, Boost your confidence, Get Confident, Gain Ultimate Confidence with Marisa Peer For a few months now, confidence and how it impacts our ability to pursue what we want in life has kept surfacing in discussions with clients. Its becoming clearer and clearer to me now that you cannot progress and grow your business without having ultimate confidence in yourself. You can say that you want change and growth and are ready to do what ever it takes but unwavering confidence and self belief is the glue that sticks everything together and keeps you going when it gets tough.

Although I’ve always seen myself as a pretty confident person, I decided to buy a book by therapist extraordinaire, Marisa Peer called Ultimate Confidence: The Secrets to Feeling Great About Yourself Every Day . I can truly say that its changed the way I view myself and how I interact with the people around me.

I first saw Marisa on TV and have since been actively following her work as a “raving fan” – I’ve told my entire close family about her work. So you can only imagine my excitement when Marisa very kindly agreed to an interview to share some of the principles in her book Ultimate Confidence: The Secrets to Feeling Great About Yourself Every Day.

For those who don’t know Marisa.

Marisa has worked extensively on television and radio and was voted the most successful therapist on Supersize vs. Superskinny and Celebrity Fit Club UK and USA. In May 2006, Marisa was named Best British Therapist by Men’s Health magazine and features in Tatler’s Guide to Britain’s 250 Best DoctorsMarisa Peer studied hypnotherapy at the Hypnotism Training Institute of Los Angeles, known as the best hypnotherapy training establishment in the world.

    What a great interview… so many nuggets of real value and really useful.

    It is so true about what you say to yourself will happen and just keep saying it to yourself. I had a quick question… if you know your have a negative pattern of dialogue going on in your head… can you change it on your own with hypothesis? Do you have any tips?

    Thanks for your kind words Laura. I think you mean *hypnosis? If so, yes you can change the negative dialogue going on in your head by being more positive and kind to yourself as Marisa said. Michael Mosley a BBC journalist produced a documentary called the “The truth about personality” which highlights how some people are more predisposed to negative thinking than others – but the good news is that your thinking and personality can be changed with some simple exercises demonstrated in the documentary.
